The Real Inspector Hound November 2007 by Tom Stoppard, directed by John Marshall
Reviews: From Estuary News (Preview): Funniest playwright writing in English today Have you heard, the Estuary Players are doing The Real Inspector Hound for their next production? Doing what? The Real Inspector Hound. It's a play. By Tom Stoppard. Tom...? Stoppard. Funniest playwright writing in English today, or any other language probably. Comedy is it? Oh, yes. The first production had Ronnie Barker and Richard Briers in the leading roles. Good lord. I don't suppose... No, they aren't members of Estuary Players. Ronnie Barker is dead in any case. Even so. Even, as you so perceptively say, so. And, as a bonus, there is a short curtain raiser called Critical Reflections, which is a sort of collection of all the funniest bits of theatre reviews over the centuries. When's it on? First night is Wednesday 14 November, at Matthews Hall, and it runs until the Saturday. And they've got that raked seating which means you can see everything that goes on. Sounds good. Tickets from the usual place? Topsham News? Also - 01392 873637. Exactly. Photos: Click a thumbnail to view larger |
